Objectives: To analyze the effects of lifestyle factors on cognition in hypertensive patients and evaluate the effectiveness of a cognitive impairment intervention course. Methods: A total of 280 hypertensive patients aged 60–80 years from Huacao Community were retrospectively enrolled between May 2024 and July 2025, among whom 64 were diagnosed with MCI. These were divided into a conventional treatment group and a combined intervention group (conventional treatment plus elderly service center cognitive intervention). Outcomes included MCI prevalence, associations between lifestyle and cognition, MoCA scores and blood pressure fluctuations, along with MMSE, ADL, SF-36 and MMAS-8 scores. Results: The prevalence of MCI was 22.9%. Smoking, alcohol consumption, insufficient physical activity and unhealthy diet were significant risk factors. The combined group showed greater improvements in MoCA, MMSE and SF-36 scores, reduced blood pressure variability, improved ADL and better medication adherence. No significant difference in adverse events was observed. Conclusion: Cognitive impairment in elderly hypertensive patients is strongly linked to lifestyle, and community-based cognitive interventions can significantly improve outcomes. ER -
